Adding Images

JPEG Images can be uploaded to both articles and comments. To do this, place an [img] tag wherever you would like the picture to be. Large images will automatically be scaled down to save space. You can add as many pictures as you'd like, but excessively large photos (2 MB or more) may be ignored. After you hit submit, if there are img tags present, you will be prompted to attach each one by clicking "Browse" and then locating the photo on your hard drive. Once you have attached an image, you can add an abstract, a border, and set a few other options for each one. Finally, hitting Submit again will post the article/comment and your picture should be included. To remove the picture, just edit the article and remove the img tag (everything between the []'s).

Article Introduction

By default, the first 1000 characters or so of each article will be displayed on the home page. To override this setting and show more or less of an article, you can surround the desired text with an [intro] tag:

[intro]I only want a one sentence introduction.[/intro]The rest will only be displayed when someone clicks on the article.

Damn.. you da man! Heh.. that's pretty clever how you used color to keep it from resolving the tag. I spent hours trying to figure out how to make my regular exression ignore them.. sad.. I know.

I'll add this to the menu tonight. I'm also going to add an [intro] tag for those times when you don't want to show the full 500 character introduction in the listing. I'll update the guide accordingly.

peanut shells are salty,
snowflakes are unique.
i am pretending to work.
while you are asleep,
near rhyme is irritating
and so is a rash.
your explaination of how
to post messages, is a
bit slap dash.

I saw that movie on TV the other day. It's so awful. I used to love it when I was a kid. It's kinda sad that he was strongest role-model I could find at the time. He got his ass kicked by every character in the movie (even the women). I guess that's why I got beat up a lot back then.

your bitter memories of childhood do not reflect the mission statement of the mighty flash gordon. {enter the puzzled look on all the viewers faces} our motives in the cybernetic justice league of the future are to spread peanut butter on the chin of the weak and skoff at those who doubt my writing skills. i too was roughed up by bullies in my younger years. it is only in the past 4 relationships that i have been slapped around by women. of coarse all of this is to be interpreted as a metaphor. have at you popp boy_ flash

Uh huh. I hear ya and I sympathize (with your metaphor). I've never actually been slapped, but I think we can all agree that emotional abuse is far more painful. If that was the worst of your relational hardships, consider yourself a lucky, lucky man.

flash gordon  |  Wednesday, January 08, 2003 11:40 AM
